Masculine Birthday Card

This card was designed by my downline Suzy Halford. See the unique "embossed" star background? Suzy gave me the following instructions to make your own custom Star "Texturz Plate" (shown to the right of the card above).
To make the pseudo "Texturz plate" for the Not Quite Navy base card: 1) Punch lots of large and small stars out of scrap cardstock 2) glue three stars together to make a thick star-repeat until you have at least 6 stacks of large and 10 stacks of the small stars 3) Glue these stacked stars on a sheet of cardstock (I used 5" x 7"). You now have a custom Texturz plate!
How to use the custom Star Texturz plate: Run your base cardstock through the Big Shot using the multipurpose platform by stacking in the following order 1) Standard Cutting Pad 2) "Star Texturz Plate" that you just made 3)Standard Texturz Impressions Pad 4)another Standard Cutting Pad.

Vintage Vogue Mother’s Day card

I CASEd a card and ribbon flower technique from fellow demonstrator Jenni Ingerick. Thanks for the inspiration Jenni!!
Vintage Vogue, Sincere Salutations and All Holidays stamp sets; Naturals Ivory, Always Artichoke and Pumpkin Pie Cardstocks; Always Artichoke and So Saffron inkpads; Top Note Die; Pumpkin Pie 1-1/4" Striped Grosgrain ribbon; Linen thread; 5/16" Neutrals Jumbo brads; Sponge Dauber.
Cut a 6" piece of the ribbon, fold in 1/2 lengthwise and put a running stitch very close along the folded edge using the linen thread. Snip the ribbon at 1/8-1/4" intervals along the non-stitched edge (see example on bottom right of photo). Pull the ends of the thread so the ribbon gathers into a "flower" shape and tie a knot. Shape the flower as desired and add a brad in the middle. Note: you can run the thread along the non folded edge and then cut the folded edge for the look on the right.
